All romantic relationships, no matter how healthy, experience seasons of tension, stress, conflict and disconnect. But when do you know your relationship is still worth saving or it’s time to let go?
This was further discussed in a First Things First article by Lauren Hall published in Chattanooga Times Free Press, where our founder, Dr. Dana McNeil PsyD, LMFT shared her expertise on the matter. According to her;
“The bright side is all couples who experience these rough patches also have the potential to work through the issues and come out stronger and more ‘in love’ than ever before,”
While having these tough seasons and regular arguments don’t always signal that your relationship is failing, Dr. McNeil stressed out;
“There is no sugarcoating the situation,” says Dr. McNeil. “You will have to make the decision that the relationship is worth being in and working on … you must commit to rolling up your sleeves and doing your part.”
